Requirements
  • Two to three years of leadership experience in manufacturing operations, including experience as a lead person, leadership trainee, or through comparable growth opportunities.
  • Alternatively, an associate degree and at least two years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Understanding and experience with induction furnaces or holders, Autopour equipment, and pouring ladles.

Responsibilities
  • Plan melting and pouring operations by communicating with the general foreman and managing available resources.
  • Determine priorities, create team assignments, and communicate team alignment.
  • Manage daily material flow and monitor parts needed to meet production requirements and quality standards.
  • Examine and diagnose equipment, facilitate rebuilding furnaces, ladles, and pour boxes, and troubleshoot discrepancies while documenting progress and results.
  • Test and audit equipment functionality daily to support production flow.
  • Apply sampling procedures to guarantee material quality and integrity.
  • Implement and report equipment standardization using established procedures and produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance to ensure calibration, standardization, and uptime of laboratory equipment.
  • Adjust and document melt recipes and charge mixes to improve quality and sustainability.
  • Communicate safety and quality standards to staff and facilitate daily startup meetings.
  • Coach and empower staff, identify high-potential workers, and support employee career development.
  • Coordinate with external laboratories and verify test results.
  • Collaborate with sand and metal distributors to support material quality.
  • Manage and record data for weekly and monthly reporting, maintain inventory counts, and submit requisitions when needed.
  • Test and analyze equipment to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Monitor equipment trends and recommend improvements to productivity.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on industry material trends and transfer knowledge to employees.

  • Experience in CNC programming and molten metal handling.

  • A bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering with one to three years of manufacturing experience in a leadership role.
