Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree, preferably in an engineering field related to rubber.
  • Ten to fifteen years of experience in a similar field.
  • Fluency in German and English.
  • Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver profitable sales growth and proactively manage, maintain, and expand the rubber and automotive customer base in assigned areas by leading and motivating direct reports.
  • Drive sales growth by proactively pursuing new or targeted accounts in the assigned region.
  • Achieve annual sales plan objectives, including volume and MSP profitability targets, and initiate contingency plans to mitigate expected shortfalls or gaps.
  • Establish, develop, maintain, and grow relationships with current and prospective customers in the assigned territory to generate new business for sourced products.
  • Make regular telephone calls and in-person visits to existing and prospective customers, and organize office and travel time to optimize effectiveness and costs.
  • Accurately introduce the company during first visits and prospecting activities.
  • Prepare a weekly written report covering area market sentiment, offers and availability, news, requirements, and other relevant business information.
  • Lead the commercial development of new products within the area of responsibility in accordance with the growth strategy.
  • Prepare area forecasts based on sales history.
  • Prepare monthly Performance Polymers forecasts based on project development.
  • Follow the claim management process to resolve quality and service problems, ensuring account managers take ownership and follow up.
  • Identify new markets, trends, and potential customers to provide sourcing input.
  • Work closely with logistics and finance departments to ensure customer expectations are understood and met in the assigned region.
  • Provide input into the annual sales plan and ensure delivery of sales volume and profitability objectives.
  • Use provided tools and work closely with the Business Director, Product Manager, and Technical Managers to generate sales leads, qualify leads into sales targets, and manage the sales target pipeline.
  • Track and report competitors' activities within the assigned region.
  • Manage the territory to maximize inventory turns and minimize freight, finance, storage, demurrage, and other logistics costs.
  • Update job knowledge and skills through technical and business learning opportunities, professional publications, and personal networks.
  • Adhere strictly to company policies and compliance procedures.
