Requirements
  • A university degree in Mechanical Engineering or qualification in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Working computer knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning systems, with Infor LN preferred.
  • Knowledge of pumps, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, motors, variable-frequency drives, sensors, and controls preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication in English.
  • Manual dexterity and sufficient strength and stamina to perform all tasks, including lifting 20 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.
Responsibilities
  • Lead regulatory compliance activities for Underwriters Laboratories, Canadian Standards Association, ETL, NSF, and Intertek for products manufactured in North Tonawanda and Niagara Falls, including hosting audits, preparing reports and applications, responding to inquiries and nonconformances, and maintaining databases.
  • Participate in maintaining the Quality and Environmental Management Systems under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 by preparing and presenting management reviews, quality records, and other documentation and contributing to registration audits.
  • Improve and maintain quality system documents, including Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and training documentation.
  • Contribute to and implement quality plans by collaborating with Production, Engineering, and Design teams, reviewing engineering specifications, and designing inspection protocols.
  • Participate in processing corrective action plans, including short-term actions, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Communicate quality issues with Customer Service, Purchasing, Engineering, Logistics, Production, other company sites, customers, and suppliers.
  • Investigate and analyze inspection and test methodologies and implement them as appropriate.
  • Participate in process analysis and improvement activities such as Failure Modes and Effects Analyses and establishing Control Plans.
  • Evaluate new products and components through the Production Part Approval Process, including qualification of components purchased by the company and products sold to customers.
  • Establish and monitor quality metrics to contribute to achieving quality goals and objectives.
