Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5–7 years of progressive sales experience in the hospitality industry in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, including 2–3 years in a managerial role.
  • A proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue and sales targets within the hotel sector.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel sales, corporate accounts, travel trade, MICE, and government segments.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • A strong understanding of revenue management principles and market analysis.
  • The ability to develop and implement strategic sales plans to maximize revenue and market share.
  • Strong knowledge of sales in the corporate and long-stay segments.
  • Experience with hotel property management systems and sales and catering systems such as Opera Cloud, Anis, Cvent, or Passk.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • The ability to prepare event proposals, contracts, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • The ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Financial awareness with the ability to manage budgets and maximize revenue.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
Responsibilities
  • Implement all sales activities and maximize business opportunities in the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Drive, manage, and maintain positive relationships with key accounts and business partners.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets in monthly and yearly forecasts and maximize hotel revenues and profits across rooms, small meetings and conferences, and food and beverage departments.
  • Develop a network of contacts to encourage and secure hotel trials with key decision-makers.
  • Generate and maintain corporate-segment customers through face-to-face sales calls, telephone calls, and entertainment.
  • Develop a timely and achievable personal business plan in conjunction with the Director of Sales and Marketing.
  • Support staffing needs in other divisions based on hotel priorities and anticipated business levels.
  • Maintain complete and supported records of sales agreements, contracts, and quotes according to company policies and procedures.
  • Understand contribution margins for each product and work with department heads to maximize operating results.
  • Achieve targets for new active accounts, room nights, banquet covers, and revenue.
  • Submit a weekly entertainment schedule to the Director of Sales and Marketing for approval.
  • Plan sales trips and attend trade shows and exhibitions as directed and approved.
  • Arrange hotel site inspections, lunches, and dinners.
  • Attend corporate functions and promotional events and promote hotel rooms, catering, facilities, and services.
  • Coordinate with international sales offices regarding accounts and markets they service.
  • Adhere to selling strategies during negotiations and maximize upselling opportunities.
  • Maintain an average sales-call pattern of 25 calls per week.
  • Provide entertainment for a minimum of two accounts per week.
  • Establish and maintain account histories within assigned market segments.
  • Implement and execute sales objectives and action plans to reach or exceed targets.
  • Solicit and service corporate and group business.
  • Quote and negotiate corporate contracts and group business within established parameters, involving the Director of Sales and Marketing when needed to close contracts.
  • Attend major hotel and city events as requested by the department head.
  • Monitor revenue and business production for the assigned corporate portfolio and any assigned Sales Executives.
  • Establish and maintain major-account files and assist the Assistant Director of Sales in maintaining the account management system.
Desired Qualifications
  • Professional certifications in Event Management or Hospitality Management are advantageous.
  • Experience managing sales activities across multiple properties is highly preferred.
  • Additional languages such as Arabic, Russian, German, French, or other international languages are advantageous.
