Information Security Risk Specialist, Mid

The Opportunity:

Cyber threats are everywhere, and the constantly evolving nature of these threats can make understanding them seem overwhelming to government agencies. In all of this “cyber noise,” how can these organizations understand their risks and how to mitigate them? The answer is an Information Security Risk Specialist like you who will break down complex threats into manageable plans of action.  

As an Information Security Risk Specialist on our team, you’ll use your experience to work with the DoD and Navy to discover their cyber risks, understand policies, and develop a mitigation plan. You’ll review technical, environmental, and personnel details from SMEs, engineers, and program managers to assess the entire threat landscape. Then you’ll guide your client through a plan of action with presentations, whitepapers, and milestones. You’ll work with your client to translate security concepts, so they can make the best decisions to secure their mission-critical systems and critical infrastructure. This is your opportunity to act as an information security SME while broadening your skills in cybersecurity and Risk Management Framework (RMF).

You Have:  

• 3+ years of experience supporting DoD RMF following DoDI 8510.01, 8500.01 and NIST 800-37, 800-53, and 800-60

• Experience as an Information Systems Security Manager, Information Systems Security Engineer, Information Systems Security Officer, RMF Support Analyst, or Information Security Risk Specialist

• Experience assisting with the development of supporting artifacts for DoD authorization packages, including Categorization Forms, HW or SW Lists, Authorization Boundary Diagrams, and Security Control policy documentation

• Experience with analyzing policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures

• Experience with Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)

• Secret clearance

• Bachelor’s degree

• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or Certified Information System Security Professional or Associate (CISSP) Certification

Nice If You Have: 

• Experience using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

• Experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Ports, Protocols, and Services Matrix, Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM), and Host Based Security Systems

Clearance: 

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,300.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
