FLSmidth delivers engineering, equipment, and service solutions for the global mining and cement industries. Its products include heavy machinery, system designs, and ongoing maintenance and optimization services that help customers run mines and cement plants more efficiently. The company is moving toward a service-driven model, expanding its digital offerings and strengthening its manufacturing and supply chain to support faster, data-driven maintenance, spare-parts logistics, and plant optimization. It is differentiating itself through a focused portfolio strategy that includes separating its Mining and Cement divisions and divesting non-core assets, such as the Air Pollution Control business, while pursuing a pure-play approach in its core areas. The goal is to improve profitability by concentrating on core businesses, simplifying operations, and growing recurring service revenue and digital solutions across its global footprint.

FLSmidth has appointed Lise Linnebjerg as Chief People Officer, effective 1 November 2026. The appointment comes as the Danish engineering company prepares for its next growth phase, including organic expansion and strategic acquisitions. Linnebjerg will be responsible for building leadership capability, talent strategy and cultural foundations to support the company's scaling efforts. She joins from Vestas Wind Systems, where she served as Senior Vice President, People & Culture for Northern & Central Europe since 2019. CEO Toni Laaksonen emphasised the importance of strong leadership for the company's growth journey, stating that developing a unified winning culture is critical for both organic growth and successful acquisitions. Prathima Adluri will continue as Interim Chief People Officer until Linnebjerg assumes the role.
FLSmidth has appointed Petri Virrankoski as President of its Service Business Line, with him expected to join during 2027. Until then, Alanas Kraujalis will remain interim President. The appointment comes as FLSmidth prepares for its next growth phase, planning to pursue both organic growth and strategic acquisitions with particular focus on strengthening the Service Business Line. Virrankoski will lead this effort whilst maintaining profitability across the business. Virrankoski joins from Sandvik's Surface Drilling Division, where he has served as President since 2019.
