Solar Landscape develops and operates community solar projects in New Jersey by partnering with commercial real estate owners, municipalities, and non-profits to bring solar energy to local communities. They install large-scale solar systems on rooftops or other available sites and share the generated energy with multiple customers, including renters and households without suitable roofs. The energy is sold to local utilities or through community solar subscriptions, generating revenue from leases and energy sales, with possible incentives and tax credits. Unlike purely residential solar providers, Solar Landscape focuses on a community solar model that makes solar energy accessible to a broader audience by pooling resources and benefits from shared installations. The goal is to reduce carbon emissions, lower energy costs for participants, and expand solar access across New Jersey for commercial, municipal, and non-profit partners and their communities.

Solar Landscape and Nuveen close $117M preferred tax equity investment to anchor $240M portfolio

Solar Landscape, a leading commercial and industrial rooftop solar producer, has closed a $117 million preferred tax equity investment with Nuveen Energy Infrastructure Credit. The investment, combined with an expected $120 million in tax credit transfer proceeds, will support a 145MW portfolio of community solar assets across Maryland, Illinois, New Jersey and Minnesota. This marks the second major transaction between the firms in under 12 months. The deal is structured to simplify tax credit monetisation, eliminating the need for traditional tax equity financing and enabling more efficient capital deployment across Solar Landscape's growing portfolio. The investment will span two years of capital deployment. Solar Landscape operates over 350 projects across 90 million square feet, representing more than 630MWdc of generation capacity.
