Requirements
  • Recent or soon-to-be-completed PhD (within the last 0-5 years) in field of experimental particle physics, high energy physics, physics, and computational science
  • Programming expertise in C/C++, Python, Fortran, or another scientific programming language
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Input/Output and data persistence
  • Ability to model Argonne’s core values of impact, safety, respect, integrity, and teamwork
Responsibilities
  • Working on the development and operations of core software frameworks for HEP experiments with special focus on Input/Output software and event storage for the DUNE experiment
  • Collaborating with other HEP scientists on DUNE
  • Involvement in HPC development as part of the HEP-CCE project, focusing on developing software applications for future Exascale architectures
Desired Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of data model and prior experience with ROOT software are desirable
