Requirements
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or Registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Currently licensed as a COTA or OTR in Wisconsin.
  • Hold current certification with National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Two (2) years or 4,000 hours of related work experience.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for instruction in the (Occupational Therapy Assistant Program) including but not limited to the following courses: Pediatrics and Assistive Technology and Adaptations.
  • Plans, develops and implements instruction in assigned courses.
  • Assists and advises students who have questions with assignments, tests, grades and/or course content.
  • Evaluates student performance in courses taught by the instructor.
  • Develops and maintains curriculum in collaboration withOTAprogram faculty.
  • Complies with college policies and procedures regarding student testing, record keeping, advanced standing, providing grades on a timely basis, maintaining office hours for student assistance and course advising, etc.
  • Maintains competencies as an instructor as aligned with the Faculty Quality Assurance System.
  • Complies with all aspects of Board policies, work rules, and the appropriate collective bargaining agreement.
  • Attends school, program and advisory committee meetings.
  • Designs curriculum, including but not limited to multicultural infusion, and instruct in a variety of non-traditional formats to meet student and program needs.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the college mission, vision and values.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of current educational methods and strategies, including learner-centered instruction, assessment, evaluation and collaborative techniques and strategies that address closing the gap in student access and achievement across race, gender and disability.
  • Skilled in the use of educational technology and alternative delivery methods to deliver high-quality instruction (i.e., online, hybrid, and accelerated course formats, course software such as Blackboard, video, Telepresence, etc).
  • Skilled in communications and human relations with populations having diverse socio-economic and racial backgrounds and persons with physical and/or learning disabilities.
  • Skilled in oral and written communications.
  • Ability to interact with business, industry, other educational institutions, and government agencies to establish partnerships.
  • Ability to adapt to new and emerging technologies and incorporate them into the classroom and curriculum.
