Requirements
  • An M.D. or D.O. is required.
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine is preferred, with maintenance of certification.
  • Long-term care experience is required.
  • Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Geriatrics specialization is desirable.
  • Physicians must comply with the credentialing process, medical staff rules and regulations, corporate integrity policies, applicable legal requirements, the Federal False Claims Act, HIPAA, and other compliance standards.
  • Physicians must participate in required orientation and training programs and cooperate with monitoring, audit functions, and investigations.
Responsibilities
  • Take complete responsibility for patients admitted to the physician's service.
  • Visit assigned patients in a timely manner according to policy and procedure.
  • Follow guidelines related to company initiatives and time-off and on-call policies.
  • Assess patients and ensure that a complete history and physical examination is documented within 72 hours after admission to the center.
  • Deliver high-quality care to assigned patients.
  • Work closely with the Center Medical Director to improve care in the facility.
  • Serve as an appropriate role model for physicians and staff.
  • Help articulate the company mission to the community and professional organizations.
  • Help the center establish relationships and coordinate transfers and care arrangements with area hospitals and other pertinent institutions.
  • Provide compassionate care and ensure that internal and external customers receive high-quality service.
  • Promptly report concerns and suspected non-compliance to management or the Compliance Officer.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
