Requirements
  • Admission to practice law and good standing in Washington.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload.
  • Ability to work a minimum of a 40-hour flexible workweek.
  • Ability to read and comprehend position-specific documents and correspondence.
  • Ability to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent device.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and data security standards.
  • Availability during business hours.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements, including lifting five pounds or greater, sitting for up to 90% of the workday, and bending and remaining mobile when needed.
Responsibilities
  • Communicate with team members and outside parties regarding litigation matters.
  • Draft, review, and file legal pleadings, motions, discovery, and related documents for active litigation files.
  • Review litigation case files and pleadings to determine appropriate action.
  • Advocate for client interests in litigation settings.
  • Use internal proprietary software to update and document account statuses in the assigned inventory.
  • Analyze and process litigation inventory reports and files to ensure proper litigation workflow under firm and client expectations.
  • Comply with client and firm standard operating procedures.
  • Travel to various courtrooms within the branch office footprint as required.
  • Prepare for and represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, including developing case strategy, drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and presenting oral arguments.
  • Negotiate settlements with consumers and their legal representatives.
  • Evaluate case merits, assess risk exposure, and provide strategic legal recommendations.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and court procedures.
  • Comply with the Firm’s Remote Working Policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of litigation or trial experience.
  • Working knowledge of civil procedure.
  • Debt collection experience.
  • Prior experience in a high-volume environment.
