Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited registered nursing program.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification
  • Must possess a valid South Carolina or compact (multi-state) RN license.
Responsibilities
  • Utilizes clinical, administrative, research and educational standards to facilitate the appropriate care of the orthopedic patients including the Medicare Comprehensive Care of Joint Replacement (CJR) patients.
  • Serves as a patient advocate and as a liaison to patients, physicians and other hospital departments.
  • Assists in development and growth of the Total Joint Replacement Center of Excellence.
  • Promotes interdisciplinary collaboration and team work to achieve optimal clinical and resource outcomes within effective time frames.
  • Maintains positive relationships with the physician office staff and surgeons.
  • Develops, maintains and teaches and evaluates the pre-op joint class.
  • Participates in improving efficiencies with pre-admit testing, day hospital and physician office patient flow.
  • Develops relationships with Post-Acute providers to ensure reduced liability and improved patient care post discharge.
  • Performs other tasks, duties or responsibilities as assigned or needed for the effective, safe and efficient functioning and operation of the hospital.
  • Utilizes lean methodology for continuous quality improvement.
  • Tracks quality improvement outcomes and trends for improvement opportunities.
  • Responsible for on-call services for patient access.
