Requirements
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in software or systems engineering.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; relevant certifications and work experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Solid scripting and automation experience.
  • Advanced understanding of Windows and Linux servers, with networking knowledge including OSI layers and TCP/IP.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization.
  • Familiarity with DevOps principles, Agile and Waterfall methodologies, change control, and documentation standards.
  • Excellent analysis, critical thinking, and communication skills, with a methodical and detail-oriented approach.
Responsibilities
  • Achieve significant process automation using Ansible, PowerShell, and bash to increase system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Design, implement, and maintain complex systems across x64/x86 servers, applications, and virtualized environments.
  • Implement web hosting technologies such as reverse proxies including HAProxy and web servers including Tomcat and IIS.
  • Diagnose incidents at their root cause, troubleshoot unique challenges, and execute full resolution steps, especially for VIP infrastructure.
  • Implement and maintain robust system security measures, adhere to SOC 1 and SOC 2 security policies, and assist with audits.
  • Work with third-party cloud solutions including Akamai, CrowdStrike, Okta, Google, and Microsoft where appropriate.
  • Implement Identity and Access Management best practices where appropriate.
  • Work closely with IT Security, Middleware, IBMi, and other teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced Systems Engineers at Levels I and II.
  • Research new tools and services, lead deployment projects from beta testing through full rollout, and stay current with emerging technologies.

VIP launches VIP Intelligence, AI suite for beverage industry pricing and forecasting

VIP, a beverage industry technology partner, has launched VIP Intelligence, an AI suite designed specifically for businesses that make, move, and sell beverages. The platform is built on 50 years of industry data and integrates AI capabilities across VIP's existing ecosystem. VIP Intelligence includes several AI-powered features rolling out throughout 2026. These include automated revenue management in PriceStream, predictive ordering in Connect and the VIP Sales App, conversational analytics in iDIG, and demand planning for suppliers in OrderStream. The company has made significant technology investments, including partnering with QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey, to accelerate its AI strategy. CEO Andrew Criezis, who joined earlier this year, is leading the initiative. VIP hosted an AI Week training event for nearly 1,000 employees and expanded its AI teams with new leadership across technology, people, and sales.
