Requirements
  • Mature and personal Christian faith
  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
  • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
  • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Relief's Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity, and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
  • Must have clean driving record
  • Speak Dari/Pashto
Responsibilities
  • Welcome newly arriving refugee families and individuals
  • Provide community orientation, counsel, and assistance in addressing basic needs
  • Assist refugee clients in accessing appropriate services such as public assistance, education, health care, and employment services
  • Encourage clients to work towards self-sufficiency and early employment in tandem with other staff members
  • Assist caseworkers with documentation and case file maintenance as needed
  • Assist in maintaining regular contact with cases, including required home visits
  • Identify and address barriers to successful resettlement as necessary
  • Operate as a cultural broker between volunteers, church groups, service providers, staff, and refugees
  • Other related tasks as assigned
