- Must have clean driving record
- Speak Dari/Pashto
- Welcome newly arriving refugee families and individuals
- Provide community orientation, counsel, and assistance in addressing basic needs
- Assist refugee clients in accessing appropriate services such as public assistance, education, health care, and employment services
- Encourage clients to work towards self-sufficiency and early employment in tandem with other staff members
- Assist caseworkers with documentation and case file maintenance as needed
- Assist in maintaining regular contact with cases, including required home visits
- Identify and address barriers to successful resettlement as necessary
- Operate as a cultural broker between volunteers, church groups, service providers, staff, and refugees
- Other related tasks as assigned
