Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree and 7 years of fundraising experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • The ability to travel approximately once per month to specific regions.
  • The ability to work self-sufficiently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work based on campaign timetables, competing priorities, and return on investment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and independently.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of principal, major gift, and leadership annual giving prospects for Simon Business School.
  • Develop sufficient knowledge of Simon Business School to represent the school on the road and provide guidance and assistance to university officers representing Simon.
  • Strategically qualify, cultivate, and solicit an appropriately sized prospect pool in selected major markets while coordinating with regional staff on their Simon portfolios.
  • Work with the Executive Director and engagement team to support prospect and alumni engagement in specific regions.
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 120 prospects with defined solicitation and dollar goals in annual performance metrics.
  • Track and manage prospect moves, short- and long-term strategies, and next steps.
  • Steward donors within the Simon Advancement department and work with central partners to create meaningful donor interactions.
  • Serve as Simon's representative on one or more University Advancement committees when appropriate.
  • Maintain a portfolio of major gift prospects and serve as regional lead for several of Simon's top markets.
  • Travel on behalf of Simon Advancement to qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, donors, and prospects.
  • Initiate and strengthen relationships and create strategies for soliciting donors capable of making major gifts.
  • Log prospect activity and necessary data into the database and align it with reporting.
  • Execute internal and external prospect moves to advance Simon major gift prospects managed by others within assigned areas, regions, and programs, including pipeline development and prospect management.
  • Solicit support for priority areas of the strategic plan.
  • Assist the Executive Director in managing special development projects and events, including campaign planning, functions, and volunteer management.
  • Advise the Executive Director on strategy and tactics for managing Simon development activities in assigned areas of responsibility.
