The Ads Engineering organization is building the next-generation Ads platforms at Nextdoor. This includes a new ads-buying platform to serve the needs of local advertisers and businesses, as well as the serving and infrastructure needed to deliver delightful ads experiences to neighborhoods worldwide,
We are looking for an experienced ads technology engineering leader to build the next generation of ads experiences on the Nextdoor platform. You will help deliver a delightful experience to our neighbors by building and serving engaging and useful ads. We are in the early phases of building the technology, so this leader will define the technical roadmap to deliver scalable, resilient ad formats and come up with a strategy to develop new formats for various clients - iOS, Android, and Web with minimal effort.
The Impact You’ll Make
You’ll recruit and manage engineers and drive the Ad Experience technical design and execution in alignment with the overall Ads strategy. You will partner with product and business peers and the broader Nextdoor engineering organization. You will define the technical design for the ad formats platform and lead execution to support the roadmap.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and leading a diverse, talented, multidisciplinary team through recruiting and mentorship
- Technical roadmap, architecture, as well as execution of deliverables of Ads Experience team
- Responsible for Ads Formats strategy execution for both the Nextdoor ad-server and Google Ad Manager
- Partner with product to help develop platform guidelines around regulations and policies that affect ads such as GDPR, CCPA, etc.
What You’ll Bring To The Team
- 8+ years of industry experience building mobile and web applications
- 3+ years of experience leading teams to build scalable and resilient full-stack applications with an emphasis on leading client teams
- Ads domain expertise and tuned to industry trends and best practices
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams
- Clear, concise communication and presentation skills
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a dynamic start-up environment
- Genuine curiosity and a hunger for learning
- Strong desire to serve local communities and neighbors worldwide
Bonus Points
- Experience building ad formats for large scale social platforms
Rewards
Compensation, benefits, perks, and recognition programs at Nextdoor come together to create one overall rewards package.
The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $155,000 - $254,000 on an annualized basis, or potentially greater in the event that your ’level’ of proficiency exceeds the level expected for the role. Compensation may also vary by geography.
We also expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With equal quarterly vesting, your first vest date would be within the first 3 months of your start date.
