- Two years of clinical experience as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is required for the West Market position.
- The candidate must hold current registered nurse licensure in the applicable state of practice; the West Market position specifically requires valid North Dakota registered nurse licensure.
- The candidate must hold current certification as a registered nurse anesthetist through the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists or the National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists, or have graduated from an accredited school of nurse anesthesia and be awaiting initial certification as specified for the market.
- Candidates awaiting initial certification must pass the certification examination within 12 months of graduation.
- The candidate must hold current Basic Cardiac Life Support or Basic Life Support certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification is required, with certification required within 90 days of hire for the East Market position.
- The West Market position requires Neonatal Resuscitation Program, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Comprehensive Advanced Life Support certifications.
- The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of lifespan growth and development principles and assess and interpret patient data according to age-specific needs.
- Perform clinical anesthesia duties and assume responsibility for direct patient care and assigned on-call coverage.
- Prioritize anesthetic decisions and administer anesthetic agents according to protocols and guidelines.
- Communicate patient status to healthcare team members.
- Facilitate staff coverage, assignments, and breaks in the surgical area.
- Participate in committees and team projects, education, research, and performance-improvement initiatives.
- Participate in professional organizations and community activities.
- Ensure that patients and families are partners in the anesthesia-care plan.
- Provide coverage across the general anesthesia pool, including call, weekends, and one to two holidays per year.
