Requirements
  • A minimum Bac+5 degree in Biomedical Engineering, Quality, Materials, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in quality assurance, regulatory affairs, or verification and validation within the medical-device industry, ideally involving Class III devices.
  • Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Proficiency with ISO 13485, the Medical Device Regulation, and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 requirements.
  • Knowledge of standards applicable to CorWave products, including ISO 14971, ISO 14708-5, ISO 60601-1, ISO 60601-2, ISO 62304, and the ISO 10993 series.
  • Ability to analyze, structure, and improve quality processes in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure rigorous, documented execution of design verification and validation activities, from plans through final reports.
  • Define, write, and approve quality documentation related to verification and validation.
  • Ensure traceability among requirements, tests, results, and acceptance criteria.
  • Contribute to product risk management according to ISO 14971, including ensuring that verification and validation activities demonstrate risk control.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 13485, the Medical Device Regulation, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, and internal procedures.
  • Participate actively in internal and external audits as the quality subject-matter reference for verification and validation and Design Control.
  • Contribute to improving quality processes and tools.
  • Provide technical supervision to an experienced engineer and support project and research-and-development teams on quality requirements and verification-and-validation best practices.
  • Participate in managing nonconformities and corrective and preventive actions related to verification and validation activities.

Corwave develops implantable cardiac support devices to help heart failure patients. Its main product is an implantable heart pump that uses wave membrane pumping technology, where an oscillating membrane displaces fluid to move blood. This design aims to provide pulsatile blood flow while enabling a less invasive surgical approach due to its compact, membrane-based mechanism. Compared with traditional ventricular assist devices, Corwave emphasizes its unique wave membrane pumping method and tubular membrane components to deliver controlled blood flow with fewer procedural burdens.
