Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience.
  • Proven planning, organizing, and project management skills in high-volume environments.
  • Familiarity with event marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Understanding of current employment markets and recruiting trends.
  • Strong customer focus and a commitment to meeting the unique needs of students, alumni, employers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Employees must deliver their services from the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia, or perform work on-site at the university.
  • Successful completion of a background check is required.
Responsibilities
  • Build, grow, and steward a portfolio of employers aligned to assigned industry clusters.
  • Evaluate employer leads from career services management system postings, faculty and staff referrals, internship sites, and external job fairs.
  • Conduct phone, email, and in-person meetings with alumni and employers to establish and maintain relationships.
  • Respond to employer and student inquiries related to recruiting and job postings.
  • Participate in professional industry and networking events to initiate employer contacts and monitor hiring and campus recruiting trends.
  • Maintain accurate relationship-management notes in the career services management system.
  • Uphold student professionalism policies and employer recruitment policies aligned with university and industry standards.
  • Adapt recruiting services to hiring and campus recruiting trends.
  • Advise employers on effective recruiting strategies based on organizational needs and student interests.
  • Use the career services management system to schedule and manage interviews, employer information sessions, office hours, information tables, site visits, and resume books, and record participation.
  • Coordinate recruiting-event logistics with campus partners, including scheduling, room setup, audiovisual needs, and catering.
  • Staff recruiting events and coordinate Career Center staff roles in promoting and implementing activities.
  • Communicate with students about recruiting activity schedules and confirmations and respond to inquiries.
  • Track and analyze participation statistics, outcomes, and qualitative feedback through mid-year and annual reports.
  • Collaborate with career advising colleagues to align employer demand with student readiness through targeted promotion and marketing campaigns.
  • Design and implement marketing plans for recruiting activities with the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications.
  • Promote recruiting activities through email blasts, social media platforms, the master calendar, and other appropriate channels.
  • Expand partnerships with offices, academic units, and student groups to increase awareness and involvement in recruiting activities.
  • Develop and deploy resources and programs supporting international students, first-generation students, student veterans, students volunteering in community service, and students with disabilities.
  • Assess and enhance the Career Center's contact-management system and career-management tools.
  • Incorporate university-approved artificial intelligence tools into workflows and develop foundational artificial intelligence literacy skills.
  • Use customer relationship management tools to manage employer records, contacts, pipelines, and activity histories.
  • Track, analyze, and report key performance indicators related to employer engagement, event outcomes, job postings, conversion to hires, first-destination outcomes, assigned industry clusters, and special populations.
  • Produce dashboards and fact sheets related to industry clusters and contribute to action plans.
  • Monitor early-talent recruiting trends and hiring regulations and brief stakeholders.
  • Lead and participate in staff meetings, project and hiring committees, and other assigned activities.
  • Co-manage a team of Employer Relations student assistants.
