About the Role:

The Art Director will help in building and bringing to life our new internal content studio — spearheading our brand’s vision through photo and video execution. This role develops and oversees the brand’s video content production as we ramp up our organic YouTube presence, and create brand content for the Hims & Hers app and blog. You are a creative that can flex between both big picture and smaller details, and are proactive and excited to drive the evolution of the Hims & Hers brand.You should feel comfortable creating photo and video briefs as well as communicating a direction for video. We are looking for someone who is highly creative, and enjoys being involved in all parts of the process! You will collaborate with a talented group of copywriters, producers, designers and video editors to make breakthrough creative. This role will be based in NY and you will be a part of building out a full content studio from scratch alongside our Creative Director. This position is location specific to New York, NY area, and will require the person to be onsite most days of the week. This position is not remote eligible.

Responsibilities:

• Ideate and assist in pre-production, attend shoots (in-person) working closely with a photographer/director, and collaborate on overseeing retouching and video edits
• Communicate a vision for a look and feel of a creative brief. Conceptual thinking is a must, we need someone who can problem solve and bring new ideas to the table
• A strong ability to think narratively, concepting and building art direction with a video first approach.
• Ability to use data, insights and past creative iterations as an input for the creative process, and work closely with our strategists to ensure creative delivered aligns with our strategic goals
• Partner with a team of copywriters, CDs, producers and video editors to deliver effective creative
• Work closely with the CD to problem solve building a studio and creative pipeline that finds output efficiency while maintaining quality creative 
• Ensure all projects meet or exceed high creative standards
• Create guidelines for campaigns as it relates to graphics and motion assets.

Experience/Skills:

• 5+ years of agency/in-house design and/or art direction experience
• Excellent knowledge of best practices and current trends
• Experience in art direction for video a must (YouTube, TVC, Editorial)
• Appetite for problem solving and a love for a fast-paced creative environment
• Exceptional design sensibility - art direction, typography, layout and strong understanding of creating beautiful visuals that meet business objectives. 
• Extensive knowledge of graphic design and brand development, and video post production processes.

Outlined below is a reasonable estimate of H&H’s compensation range for this role.  

An estimate of the current salary range is $75,000-$150,000. H&H also offers a comprehensive Total Rewards package that includes equity grants of restricted stock (RSU’s) so that H&H employees own a piece of our company. The actual amount will take into account a range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and location.
