About the role
The Senior Life Insurance Technical Business Analyst will lead the definition, standardization, and management of policy activation and administration workflows, ensuring alignment with industry standards. This role requires deep life insurance domain expertise to map business logic effectively with carrier applications, enabling standardized data, accounting, and operational processes. The position involves working closely with insurance carriers and internal teams to ensure that business logic, workflows, and data structures are consistent, accurate, and aligned with industry practices. The analyst will play a crucial role in driving clarity, efficiency, and compliance within the organization’s life insurance operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Workflow Standardization & Documentation:
- Lead the development and standardization of policy activation and administration workflows, ensuring they are clearly defined and aligned with industry best practices.
- Collaborate with insurance carriers to map business logic, applications, data flows, and accounting processes, ensuring consistency and accuracy in all operational areas.
- Document and maintain a comprehensive repository of standardized workflows and business logic, ensuring all stakeholders have access to clear and up-to-date information.
- Carrier Collaboration & Alignment:
- Ensure that data integration, accounting, and operational processes meet both organizational and carrier standards, reducing discrepancies and enhancing operational efficiency.
- Data Governance & Integrity:
- Develop and enforce standards for data governance within life insurance operations, ensuring that all data flows and processes are accurate, consistent, and compliant with industry regulations.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership:
- Engage with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, underwriting, claims, and actuarial, to ensure that workflows and business logic are understood and properly implemented across the organization.
- Lead workshops and strategic meetings to discuss and finalize workflow standardization efforts, ensuring alignment across all business units.
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
- Lead initiatives to continuously improve and innovate workflow standardization and data governance practices, leveraging new tools and technologies as appropriate.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in business analysis, workflow standardization, or data governance within the life insurance industry, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role.
- Extensive experience working with insurance carriers to align business processes and logic with industry standards.
- Proven track record of leading workflow standardization and documentation projects, particularly in life insurance operations.
- Deep understanding of life insurance industry practices, including policy activation, administration, and data governance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues in workflow management and data processes.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex business logic into clear and understandable documentation.
- Proficiency in using workflow management and documentation tools, as well as data governance platforms.
- Leadership and mentoring abilities, with a focus on driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

The US national base salary range for this full-time position is $114,000 - $190,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
