Requirements
  • High school graduation or General Educational Development credential.
  • Seven to nine years of experience in facilities maintenance.
  • Experience with the maintenance of building structures and related Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Ability to work a swing shift schedule, typically between 3:00 PM and 1:30 AM, including potential overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders, use manual dexterity, and perform lifting and moving tasks.
Responsibilities
  • Create and verify tasks and time allotments for maintenance work orders.
  • Acquire best-value materials and parts and allocate tools and other resources required to accomplish work tasks.
  • Follow up on the quality and completion of work through field visits and communication with clients, technicians, crew leads, and supervisors.
  • Prepare a weekly schedule for each technician detailing daily planned work orders, activities, or absences.
  • Update the frequencies of predictive and preventive maintenance work orders.
  • Coordinate equipment outages with clients to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Plan and schedule the acquisition and allocation of resources and materials to accomplish nonreactive maintenance work.
Desired Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher in a technical field.
  • Completion of a vocational trade or apprentice program in one or more journeyman trades.
  • More than nine years of experience in facilities maintenance.
  • Experience with the maintenance of large buildings including classrooms, laboratories, libraries, and museums.
  • Experience with the repair and preventive maintenance of large Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning systems, heat recovery units, and associated pumps, piping, ducting, and related equipment.
  • Experience with predictive maintenance techniques including thermography, temperature, pressure and vibration monitoring, and power analysis.
  • Experience working at the University of Texas or within a university setting.
  • Successful completion of the Leader Development Program.
  • A clear Motor Vehicle Report for the past 36 months.
