Requirements
  • Degree in a scientific field (e.g., BS, MS, PhD, PharmD, MD, DVM) or related degree with meaningful cross-functional program/project leadership experience.
  • Solid understanding of drug development process, regulatory and business requirements
  • Demonstrated ability in R&D, Clinical Development, Program Leadership & Management and/or Corporate Planning in the life sciences industry
  • Proven financial, budget and resource planning experience
Responsibilities
  • Leading a team of full-time employees and contractors within the Project Leadership and Project & Portfolio Management functions
  • Accountable for Vir clinical development program performance, risk management, administration, financial management and issue resolution
  • Defining and implementing the Program Executive and Asset Leader roles
  • Chairing the Product Development Committee (PDC)
  • Ensuring effective program management and efficient decision-making across Vir development portfolio
  • Prioritizing lifecycle management initiatives and evaluating the business case for additional investments
  • Partnering with key collaborators to identify, evaluate and prioritize new clinical development assets
  • Providing scheduled and ad-hoc program status reporting to the Executive Management Team and Board of Directors
  • Supporting the management of all financial aspects of Vir's development programs
