The Azure Security Engineer is a subject matter expert position that will focus on the Azure environment and will act as a conduit for identifying capabilities needed for a full defense in depth posture in the cloud. The Azure SME will be the primary contributor responsible for delivering the full capability lifecycle working with the other subject matter experts.

Responsibilities: 

• Identify and communicate security control gaps in the Azure environment.

• Define proper risk levels that align with the company risk appetite without compromising velocity or innovation.
• Open JIRA tickets, as appropriate, to effectively track work in progress.

• Partner to design Security Event and Logging Lifecycle for Azure environment that aligns with VitalCORE Enterprise processes.
• Partner to design and socialize playbooks for the SOC related to the Azure environment.
• Designing and implementing Secure Azure IaaS, PaaS, SaaS Solutions (covering Identity, Networking, Storage, Containers)
• Implementing Azure Security Controls in a Hybrid Cloud environment
• Building Azure Governance DevSecOps implementation (CI/CD in Azure)
• Azure Automation Microservices and Container (AKS) deployment Logic App Designs and Workflows

Required skills and qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years of hands-on experience in the Security Event and Logging Control Family.
• 3 years of hands-on experience in the Azure Environment.
• Expert knowledge of cloud shared responsibility models.
• Preferred experience in automation, API’s, IaC, json, and python.

• Experience in a DevOps organization.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred skills and qualifications: 

Azure Foundations Certification, Azure Security Engineer Certification.
