Qorvo designs and manufactures radio frequency (RF) semiconductors and modules for mobile devices, 5G infrastructure, defense, and IoT. Its products include RF front-end components such as power amplifiers, switches, and filters, as well as integrated modules built with GaAs, GaN, SAW, and BAW technologies. These components are used by OEMs and ODMs to manage wireless signals in smartphones, base stations, radar, satellites, and aerospace systems. The company also provides foundry services and intellectual property licensing. Qorvo differentiates itself through a broad, multi-technology portfolio that spans mobile, infrastructure, defense, and IoT markets, enhanced by strategic acquisitions (e.g., GreenPeak, Decawave, United Silicon Carbide) that expand capabilities in IoT connectivity, ultra-wideband, and silicon carbide power devices. Its goal is to help customers deliver faster, more power-efficient wireless connectivity across 5G, IoT, automotive, and aerospace applications.

Advanced laser factory coming to North Carolina.

Advanced laser factory coming to North Carolina. Nvidia will serve as a customer. Manufacturing.net Staff Mar 27, 2026 iStock.com/Hugo Kurk Optical and photonic technologies company Lumentum Holdings Inc. announced plans to establish a new manufacturing facility in Greensboro, North Carolina. The factory will produce advanced indium phosphide (InP)-based optical products, including continuous wave (CW) and ultra-high-power (UHP) lasers, that serve as critical components in the world's largest AI data centers. Lumentum expects the new facility to expand its manufacturing capacity, leveraging 6-inch InP wafers. The company added that it plans to invest hundreds of millions of dollars over the next several years to scale production, while preserving and creating over 400 manufacturing jobs. Lumentum acquired the 240,000-square-foot facility from semiconductor chipmaker Qorvo. The purchase agreement includes the transfer of an experienced workforce. Customers of the site will include Nvidia and other AI infrastructure firms. New roles at the factory will include fabrication process and equipment engineering, manufacturing technicians, operations, supply chain, quality, management, IT, HR and finance. The project received support from state and local economic development programs.

Qorvo Q3 earnings beat estimates as revenues climb to $993M on smartphone and automotive demand

Qorvo reported strong third-quarter fiscal 2026 results, with both adjusted earnings and revenues surpassing estimates. Non-GAAP net income reached $203.2 million or $2.17 per share, compared with $152.8 million or $1.61 per share year-over-year, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 30 cents. Net sales improved to $993 million from $916.3 million in the prior-year quarter, exceeding the consensus estimate of $991.3 million. Growth was driven by content gains in flagship smartphones, a new high-band pad win in cellular-enabled iPads, and strong demand across defence, aerospace and infrastructure markets. The High-Performance Analog segment contributed $190.9 million in revenues, whilst the Advanced Cellular Group segment generated $690.8 million, up 8.8% year-over-year. Non-GAAP gross margin improved to 49.1% from 46.5%.

Qorvo meets Q4 revenue expectations at $993M, exits lower-margin Android business for profitability

Qorvo, a communications chips maker, met Wall Street's revenue expectations in Q4 2025, with sales rising 8.4% year-on-year to $993 million. Its non-GAAP profit of $2.17 per share beat analyst estimates by 16.4%. The company is deliberately reducing exposure to lower-margin Android smartphone business whilst focusing on premium and flagship tiers. CEO Robert Bruggeworth noted this strategic shift is improving profitability, with operating margin reaching 19.4%, up from 5.8% a year earlier. Qorvo saw growth in high-performance analogue, defence, aerospace and connectivity segments, including automotive ultra-wideband and Wi-Fi 7 solutions. The company expects next quarter's revenue around $900 million, though adjusted earnings per share guidance of $1.20 falls below analyst estimates of $1.37.

Qorvo posts $993M Q3 revenue but forecasts $300M Android decline in fiscal 2027

Qorvo Inc reported revenue of $993 million for its fiscal third quarter, with non-GAAP gross margin of 49.1% and diluted earnings per share of $2.17. The company held approximately $1.3 billion in cash and equivalents, with long-term debt of $1.5 billion. Operating cash flow reached $265 million, whilst free cash flow totalled $237 million. The semiconductor company successfully closed its Costa Rica facility ahead of schedule and secured placement in cellular-enabled iPads. It is expanding its ultra-wideband technology reach and seeing strong demand for Wi-Fi 7 solutions. However, Qorvo expects significant headwinds, forecasting a $300 million decline in Android revenue for fiscal 2027 after receiving lower share in ultra-high band components for upcoming phone models. The company anticipates a mid-single-digit decline in full-year revenue for fiscal 2027.

Qorvo meets Q4 expectations with $993M revenue, inventory days drop to 91

Communications chip maker Qorvo met Wall Street revenue expectations in Q4 CY2025, with sales rising 8.4% year-on-year to $993 million. However, the company's guidance appears problematic: it forecasts next quarter's revenue at $800 billion—a figure that seems erroneous given the company's $993 million quarterly run rate. The company's non-GAAP earnings of $2.17 per share beat analyst estimates by 16.4%. Operating margin improved significantly to 19.4%, up from 5.8% year-on-year, whilst free cash flow margin rose to 23.9% from 19.2%. Inventory days outstanding decreased to 91 from 99 in the previous quarter. Qorvo, which designs RF chips for smartphones and networking equipment, has struggled with long-term growth, with trailing 12-month sales of $3.74 billion roughly matching levels from five years ago.
