Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required; vocational training is preferred.
  • AWS Certification is required.
  • One to two years of welding experience in an industrial setting is required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing notation is required.
  • Basic understanding of computer-aided design and SolidWorks software is required.
  • Ability to use hand and layout/inspection tools is required.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Basic problem-solving and arithmetic skills are required.
  • Ability to frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds is required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the shift is required.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to fumes or airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, moving mechanical parts, industrial equipment, vibration, and loud noise is required.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Set up and use metal inert gas and tungsten inert gas welding equipment to weld basic gas tungsten arc welding and gas metal arc welding mild-steel joints.
  • Assemble exhaust assemblies, racks, and prototyping fixtures.
  • Perform first-piece table layouts and troubleshoot builds using coordinate measuring machine reports to obtain an acceptable first piece.
  • Maintain accurate job documentation for all production runs.
  • Load and run the robot welder in automatic mode and make needed repairs on assemblies after robotic welding.
  • Investigate and correct issues found during a build or inspection of an assembly.
  • Ensure shipped products meet internal and customer requirements according to coordinate measuring machine reports, blueprints, and American Welding Society specifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
