Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of industry experience in mechanical engineering
  • Strong experience with mechanical system design and analysis
  • Experience with rapid prototyping, manual machining, 3D printing
  • CAD (SolidWorks / Onshape), including FEA, 2D drawings, simulations, etc.
  • Ability to design for conventional machining and additive manufacturing
  • Knowledge of thermal, electrical, and mechanical properties for a range of metals
  • Experience with tolerance analysis and understanding of GD&T
  • Some experience with precision engineering (vacuum chamber, nanoscale mechanical precision, microfluidics, etc.)
Responsibilities
  • Designing and developing precision mechanical components and systems
  • Working with manufacturers and tools to prototype and manufacture mechanical systems
  • Testing and iterating on mechanical systems based on their performance
  • Creating thorough documentation (CAD, drawings, design rationale, etc.)
