What you’ll achieve

As a Government Affairs Global Public Policy Advisor, you will join the Global Government Affairs team as an advocate for Dell’s key business priorities in the U.S. Government and with foreign government representatives in Washington, DC.  In this role you will contribute your political and governmental experience to decision-driving discussions among internal and external stakeholders; and at times serve as visible representative of Dell’s values and priorities with Federal policymakers, NGOs, and other relevant stakeholders.

You will:

• Interact with government officials on behalf of Dell and advance the company’s business priorities

• Establish, develop, and maintain Dell relationships with US and foreign policymakers

• Assist the team in the development and execution of proactive and reactive advocacy strategies relating to priority issues; Working with other functions, devising strategies designed to enhance Dell’s reputation and thought leadership

• Regularly present to and update internal and external audiences on policy developments critical to Dell’s global business objectives 

• Work closely with Global Operations, Legal, and other company stakeholders on business priorities as they relate to government policies and policymakers 

• Monitor, track, and influence relevant policy proposals; proactively inform relevant legal and business leaders of emerging policy trends impacting Dell’s business or compliance interests

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required. This role involves close collaboration with senior team members.  You should have 8-10 years of experience working with U.S. and international governments.

• Understanding of international trade and national security policy issues and legislative/regulatory processes.  

• Political and policy experience, including contacts on in the Executive Branch

• Aptitude to work collaboratively within a small, fast-paced team 

• Comfortable interacting regularly with senior leaders 

• Proven ability to work, lead and collaborate with other internal teams (ex. Communications, Public Affairs, Sales, Marketing, Legal, etc. 

• Demonstrated ability to operate with integrity and within standards of ethical conduct 

Desirable Requirements

• Deep policy expertise or experience in international trade and/or export controls and related national security issues 

Compensation
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $153,850 - $199,100.
