Requirements
  • Strong therapeutic communication skills and the ability to conduct educational groups.
  • An associate's degree in behavioral health or a related field, or equivalent years of experience and education.
  • No experience is required.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider certification from the American Heart Association is required.
  • Ability to work from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and every third weekend.
  • Ability to maintain constant alertness and work safely.
  • Ability to meet the stated physical requirements, including standing and walking, lifting and carrying objects, patient handling, and occasional driving.
Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living.
  • Provide or assist with direct patient care and therapeutic interventions based on assignments from a registered nurse.
  • Observe and record patient behavior and activities, report changes in condition, and suggest modifications to the treatment plan.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with assigned patients.
  • Apply knowledge of group dynamics while participating in therapeutic groups and maintaining the milieu.
  • Monitor patients to ensure safety through rounding and environmental and safety checks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
