Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Mechanical engineer responsible for all aspects of design, analysis, and evaluation of the components for a disk drive system
• Design using CAD, FEA, and confirm design performance and correlation to simulations
• Will plan and execute evaluations using various laboratory test equipment, perform data analysis and report test results, run tolerance analyses, optimize designs, perform failure analysis on problems and develop solutions
• Will manage suppliers, supplier processes, and work with internal manufacturing to produce high volume, high yield, and cost-effective products
• Will work cross-functionally within the development organization, manufacturing engineering, and procurement.
• Some travel may be required

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
• Solid fundamental mechanical design engineering skills with experience using 3D CAD software
• Should be familiar with test instrumentation such as LDVs, structural dynamic analyzers, and accelerometers

SKILLS

• Project or work experience demonstrating technical capability in areas of mechanical design, basic finite element analysis (FEA), tolerance stack-up analysis, and knowledge of various engineering materials is a plus
• Demonstrated ability in creative problem solving and innovation
• Strong team player, effective communication skills, and highly motivated
