Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of AWS standards and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Sections I, V, VIII, and IX, as well as B31.1 and B31.3.
- At least 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control positions involving structural, auxiliary equipment, boiler, and pressure vessel fabrication.
- Knowledge of general steel fabrication practices.
- A background in welding and inspection.
Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and execute efforts to ensure that delivered product quality meets or exceeds customer expectations.
- Oversee Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions within the business unit, including maintaining and improving the quality management system, processes, certifications, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Plan, identify, and assign resources for project-specific quality activities.
- Manage and support quality surveillance and inspection activities for project execution.
- Support proposals by reviewing project scope for special manufacturing or quality requirements and developing estimates for quality support hours, subcontract inspection services, and costs.
- Coordinate and assist with developing project-specific quality plans, inspection checklists, and documentation requirements for suppliers of fabrications, raw materials, and equipment.
- Manage nonconformance control and lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for critical nonconformances.
- Support supplier qualification by auditing supplier quality management systems and assessing fabrication capabilities.
- Support the company's Quality Management System and ISO 9001 certification, and manage the internal audit program.
- Facilitate and lead improvement initiatives within the department and across other functional areas.
- Coordinate and prioritize the work of direct reports and foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
Desired Qualifications
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor training or certification.
