The Principal is an onsite client-facing and leadership role that supports Point B’s growth/delivery by supporting a team of expert consultants in the ESG/Sustainability practice. The role may also engage in the writing, analyzing and synthesizing of ESG/Sustainability reporting and disclosures for clients. As a senior leader in the Sustainability & ESG practice, the Principal will be expected to contribute to firm, practice leadership and, client strategy, climate action and decarbonization advisory services.
WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:
Serve as a senior point of contact and trusted advisor for clients, providing expert guidance on ESG reporting, disclosure, and traceability.
Lead, manage, and contribute to the execution of projects by offering expertise in ESG frameworks, ensuring compliance with both voluntary and regulated disclosure standards.
Expand and deepen the firm’s ESG and sustainability offerings by identifying market trends, client needs, and opportunities for growth.
Develop and strengthen client relationships by delivering tailored reporting and disclosure solutions that align with global best practices.
Serve as a thought leader for external and internal audiences, influencers and leaders outside of the sustainability and ESG profession
Guide clients through the implementation of international frameworks, including GRI, SASB, TCFD, and IFRS/ISSB standards, tailoring strategies to their specific regulatory environments.
Promotes a focus on “staying current” and, leading indicator or “next stage best practices” in trends (e.g., conducts benchmarking and research; understands best practices and changes in laws and regulations, etc.) including emerging policy changes and legislation affecting ESG, such as like CSRD, SFDR, and SEC requirements
Support client leadership teams by communicating the implications of technical legislative language on business operations and sustainability goals.
Act as trusted client advisor and earn loyalty through superior service and responsiveness; actively finds ways to demonstrate Point B’s expertise through sales and project delivery
Expand the firm’s ESG and sustainability offerings by identifying market trends, client needs, and opportunities for growth
Act as a thought leader in ESG reporting trends and contribute to the development of Point B’s internal and external thought leadership materials.
Participate in client business development activities, can speak to Point B capabilities (services, products, etc), and pulls in the right support when client need is identified
Develops capability team members through performance management, consistent feedback, and development opportunities that help them achieve their professional goals
Supports team effort and builds authentic relationships with individuals in work groups and teams
Consistently demonstrates and lives Point B cultural tenets and values
Participates in firm culture activities to connect regularly with other Point B’ers (e.g. account meetings, Practice Meetings, etc.)

WHAT WE EXPECT YOU’VE ALREADY DONE:
10-15+ years of experience in corporate sustainability, ESG reporting, or consultancy roles, with a successful track record in disclosure and regulatory compliance. Preferrable for EU/UK driven disclosures and compliance as primary markets.
Deep expertise in ESG frameworks and regulations such as GRI, SASB, TCFD,ISSB, UN SDGs, UN Global Compact, CSRD, CSDDD.
Familiarity with key ESG platforms such as CDP, MSCI, and S&P Global CSA (DJSI),EcoVadis.
Deep understanding of legislative and regulatory proposals, with the ability to distill technical information and communicate its business impact effectively.
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing priorities, delivering high-quality results under ambiguity.
Willingness to travel (25-40% on average) and work non-standard hours when needed to meet client and project demands.
Graduate Degree in Sustainability, Business, or like degrees, B.S required

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The estimated salary range for this role is $190,500 - $240,000 USD per year. This salary range is provided as required by local and state law as applicable. Individual salaries vary on a number of factors including but not limited to geography, skills, education, experience and unique qualifications where applicable.
Bonuses are awarded at Point B’s discretion and are based upon individual contributions and overall firm performance.
