Requirements
  • The position requires emergency on-call duties.
  • The technologist must be able to function independently in the scrub role for all procedures, including advanced and highly complex procedures, and function as a circulator under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • Technologists in radiation-producing modalities must practice and enforce radiation safety measures in accordance with New York State Department of Health Code Part 16.
Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic examinations during invasive cardiology, noninvasive cardiology, and peripheral vascular study procedures at the request or direction of an Interventional Cardiologist.
  • Collect and record subjective data to support anatomical and physiological diagnoses for patients.
  • Participate in all phases of the peri-procedural process.
  • Manipulate procedural instrumentation under the direct supervision of the Interventional Cardiologist.
  • Manage the supplies and equipment needed during invasive cardiology procedures.
  • Anticipate the needs of the Interventional Cardiologist during procedures.
  • Maintain the sterile field.
  • Perform technical procedures and assist with the clinical evaluation and care of patients under the direction of the Medical Director, Section Head, Manager, and Interventional Cardiologist.
  • Use the applicable imaging modality to create diagnostic images and provide patients with a safe experience.
  • Support teaching and continue learning as technology changes.
