In this role, you’ll get to:

• Coordinate with teams on all parts of the SRE culture: operate, monitor, alert, respond
• Create highly available and customizable SRE services -  to be used internally by Software and Data Engineering teams to operate our offered products and externally by customers to understand health of their purchased products
• Utilize coding and scripting to enhance Operations as Code, Monitoring as Code, Alerting as Code and Resolution Management, for hands-off continuous reliability, efficiency and performance
• Expand your skill set, by learning our Engineering team’s approach to build/test/deploy products onto infrastructure for a modern healthcare platform  
• Ensure consistency and automation in our observability across UIs, APIs, serverless functions and analytics products
• Partner with DevOps, SDET and Security team to ensure reliability of deployments, enhance testing capabilities and integrate compliance in our products and deliveries
• Set standards and implement automation that allows Engineering to easily follow the best practices
• Focus initially on AWS, but help us build/scale to cloud agnostic approaches - so we can support Azure and GCP
• Mentor junior developers/engineers in technologies and SRE culture
• Sprint as part of an Agile team that implements Kanban for unplanned work and Scrum for planned work
• Work with a team to bring Patient healthcare data together to affect future health outcomes!

We are looking for people who have:

• 5+ years of SRE experience
• Experience with tools and methodologies for: monitoring: AWS CloudWatch, DataDogincident management: PagerDuty, OpsGenieinfrastructure orchestration: Terraform, AWS Cloud Formation 
• Proficiency with a CI/CD pipeline technology such as Jenkins, Travis CI, AWS CodePipeline, or GitHub Actions etc.
• An understanding of distributed AWS web application architecture principles
• Competency in one or more programming languages: Python or Javascript preferred
• Proficiency with Linux and Linux scripting

You may also have:

• Healthcare and/or bioinformatics experience
• Experience with large-scale data processing
• BS/MS Computer Science / Software Engineering or commensurate prior experience
