Requirements
  • B.S. in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology required.
  • 2 years minimum experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to interact with various departments and good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Creative thinking, self-motivating, problem solving skills, and a desire to remain current with emerging technologies.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude and proficiency in the use of hand tools.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as “hands-on” Manufacturing Engineer on project team dedicated to assembly of lithium ion and lithium metal batteries.
  • Design and implement tools and processes to manufacture new products.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead changes to improve product quality.
  • Identify and implement new equipment and processes.
  • Develop process parameters for a variety of manufacturing assembly operations, including heat sealing, laser welding, laser cutting, ultrasonic welding, resistance welding, and battery winding.
  • Train technicians with assembly techniques; some "hands-on" assembly work may be required.
  • Perform equipment setup and minor equipment repairs.
  • Troubleshoot assembly issues and implement corrective actions to minimize recurrence.
  • Assist with product design decisions and changes.
  • Develop comprehensive work instructions and process controls.
  • Generate and implement work area layouts / participate in 6S initiatives.
  • Prepare and present technical presentations to customers as it relates to product line issues.

  • Experience with tool design (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Experience with process parameter development.
  • Experience with machining equipment operation.
  • Experience with laser welding.
