- B.S. in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology required.
- 2 years minimum experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to interact with various departments and good verbal and written communication skills.
- Creative thinking, self-motivating, problem solving skills, and a desire to remain current with emerging technologies.
- Solid mechanical aptitude and proficiency in the use of hand tools.
- Serve as “hands-on” Manufacturing Engineer on project team dedicated to assembly of lithium ion and lithium metal batteries.
- Design and implement tools and processes to manufacture new products.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead changes to improve product quality.
- Identify and implement new equipment and processes.
- Develop process parameters for a variety of manufacturing assembly operations, including heat sealing, laser welding, laser cutting, ultrasonic welding, resistance welding, and battery winding.
- Train technicians with assembly techniques; some "hands-on" assembly work may be required.
- Perform equipment setup and minor equipment repairs.
- Troubleshoot assembly issues and implement corrective actions to minimize recurrence.
- Assist with product design decisions and changes.
- Develop comprehensive work instructions and process controls.
- Generate and implement work area layouts / participate in 6S initiatives.
- Prepare and present technical presentations to customers as it relates to product line issues.
- Experience with tool design (SolidWorks preferred).
- Experience with process parameter development.
- Experience with machining equipment operation.
- Experience with laser welding.
