  • You have a degree in Business Administration or Human Resources Management, Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline
  • You have 3+ years of experience in a position that often interacts with manufacturing and/or warehouse employees, or equivalent education and experience

Responsibilities
  • Acts as a first point of contact during an employee’s medical absence and serves as a focal point for centralized communication on processes and requirements associated with their occupational and non-occupational illness and/or injury, and information on resources available during recovery. Responsible for outcome-focused case management plans, requesting regular updates from employees and maintaining accurate records.
  • Create and maintain confidential Claims Management and Recovery at Work files for each case, and monitor their statuses for short-term disability, long term disability, ICBC and WorkSafe BC claims, along with any WCB reviews and appeals
  • Interprets, reviews and assesses medical documentation, in collaboration Health & Safety, and relevant parties to ensure medical is clear, current, and credible.
  • Collaborates with Health and Safety to support employees who are ill and/or injured, including but not limited to assisting in the design of modified/alternate work opportunities, or return to work plans to mitigate absences from work due to injury/illness.
  • Reviews job demands/accommodation requests and works with Health & Safety to identify suitable work while adhering to the essential duties.
  • Arranges for ergonomic evaluation in partnership with Health & Safety.
  • Provides support, guidance and education to leaders during their employee’s medical absence and their return-to-work integration
  • Provide accurate and timely information regarding cases to People Leaders, third-party insurers, and other internal relevant parties.
  • Seeking to identify and solve the root cause of employee relations issues and foster a positive work environment, with the guidance and support of the People and Culture Business Partners prepare, compile and distribute various reports, files, statistics, dashboards, documents and lists.
  • Maintain confidentiality, accuracy and integrity in the collection, processing, and maintenance of information in accordance with legislation
  • Playing a key role in ensuring our systems, including Workday and other online portals, reflect accurate and up-to-date information
  • Supporting the Business Partnership team with other administrative duties, projects and ad hoc requests as needed
