Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Life and Health licenses are required to sell products.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience successfully soliciting and selling life insurance products to independent agency clients is required.
  • Experience selling intangible products is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of life insurance and annuity products and services is required.
  • Ability to analyze customer needs and recommend products that fit those needs is required.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly to prospective clients is required.
  • Ability to prepare proposals and conduct closing interviews to sell life and annuity products is required.
  • Ability to assess and reflect customer insurance requirements consistently with company standards when writing policies is required.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations to determine premiums and values of life insurance and financial products is required.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with independent agents is required.
  • Ability to prospect and develop new sales opportunities while meeting production requirements is required.

  • Strong communication skills with agency principals and their staff are required, including keeping management informed on sales and the disposition of agency-generated leads.
  • Understanding of and ability to articulate the financial, tax, estate, and legal impacts of products on prospective insureds is required.

  • Proficient writing skills for composing routine correspondence are required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.

  • Ability and willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Build trust and develop strong working relationships with agency principals to optimize sales opportunities in the book of business, including independent-agent principal planning, key-person planning, succession planning, and estate planning.
  • Prospect for new accounts through outbound and inbound phone calls, mailings, referrals, networking, website inquiries, and seminars.
  • Generate leads and referrals.
  • Prospect within agency books of business.
  • Conduct regular independent-agency visits and collaborate on marketing events.
  • Continuously prospect through outbound and inbound phone calls, mailings, referrals, networking, website inquiries, and seminars.
  • Quote life and annuity business on behalf of independent agencies.
  • Manage cases.
  • Attain independent-agency life sales goals.
  • Model Salesforce data to provide requested information.
  • Use Salesforce to manage independent-agency referrals and the end-to-end workflow.
  • Use Salesforce to document all service and sales activities.
  • Follow ACG and AAA Life Company compliance guidelines.
  • Provide minor training and important life updates to independent agents when needed.
  • Help ensure independent-agency life insurance business is written according to compliance standards.
Desired Qualifications
  • College-level coursework.
  • Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow, Chartered Financial Consultant, Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Organization Underwriter, or Financial Services Certified Professional certification.
  • Professional designations through the American College of Financial Services.
  • Strong knowledge of ACG’s comprehensive product portfolio.
  • Knowledge of ACG systems for policy sales and quoting.
