Akelius raises $379M in equity to repurchase hybrid bond

Akelius Residential Property AB has raised €335 million in equity through a capital contribution from its owner, Akelius Apartments Ltd. The funds will be used to repurchase an outstanding hybrid bond worth €334.7 million, which has a first reset date in May 2026. Standard & Poor's assigns Akelius's hybrid bond 50% equity content. By adding equity well above this threshold, the Swedish property company expects to receive equity content recognition for any future hybrid capital securities it issues.
