- A high school diploma is required.
- One to two years of activities-assisting experience is preferred.
- Must be willing to drive a bus for resident outings.
- Must have literacy, writing, documentation, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Conduct and assist with resident activities under the supervision of the director.
- Communicate residents’ needs to the appropriate department.
- Assist residents to and from activities.
- Attend resident care conferences as needed.
- Document information in resident records as required.
- Promote positive public relations for the facility.
- Maintain awareness of applicable policies, procedures, and the mission statement.
- Assist with developing and posting monthly and daily activities calendars, and plan and confirm resident activities.
- Assist with the volunteer program as needed.
- Assist with caring for pets and plants.
- Purchase pre-approved department supplies.
- Assist with decorating the facility for special occasions and holidays.
- Provide stimulation during one-on-one visits.
- Respect and maintain residents’ dignity, individuality, privacy, and confidentiality, and remain knowledgeable of the Residents’ Bill of Rights.
- One to two years of activities-assisting experience.
