Your Impact

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our corporate data engineering team. You will be instrumental in developing our new data platform, built upon Snowflake, using Fivetran & Snowpipe for extract and load, for integrations, DBT for transformations, and Sigma for analytics. Your work and problem solving ability will directly impact how data is organized, modeled, and delivered to business partners for analytical reporting.

What You’ll Do

Location:Remotely from USA

Reports to:Enterprise Data Architect

Design and build our analytical reporting layer using DBT.
Collaborate with business partners to understand data requirements and organize data effectively.
Develop and maintain data models to support business analytics and reporting needs.
Ensure data integrity and consistency across the data platform.
Implement best practices for data management, including data governance, quality, and security.
Optimize data workflows and pipelines for performance and scalability.
Support and troubleshoot data-related issues and provide solutions in a timely manner.
Create and maintain documentation for data models, processes, and systems.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve our data platform.

What You Bring

4+ years of experience in data engineering or related field.
Proficiency with Snowflake and DBT for data transformations.
Strong data modeling skills and experience in designing efficient data architectures.
Advance experience with SQL.
Experience with data integration and ETL processes.
Ability to work collaboratively with business partners to understand and meet their data needs.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills / Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Familiarity with data quality framework (Monte Carlo, Great Expectations, DBT Testing, etc...)
Experience with CI/CD Pipelines (Gitlab CI, Github Actions, etc...)
Experience with Sigma Computing, Power BI, or similar analytics platforms.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Knowledge of data governance and best practices for data security and privacy.

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 88,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 132,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
