  • Graduate of an allied health field program
  • Associate Degree program preferred
  • Must be registered or be an eligible candidate for registry in Vascular Ultrasound through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) within 3 months of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 2 weeks of hire
  • Applicants who are registered in another ultrasound registry, such as, RDMS-AB, RDMS, RDCS, or RCS must obtain their RVT or RVS within 9 months of hire
  • Graduates of an accredited vascular ultrasound program must be registered within 3 months of hire
  • CPR certification required
Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the cerebrovascular, peripheral vascular and abdominal vascular systems
  • Records an accurate medical history, indication for exam, and a physical evaluation according to the exam ordered
  • Provides appropriate documentation of services rendered
  • Coordinates inpatients and outpatient appointments
  • Performs and documents routine calibrations, inspections, and maintenance of all equipment
  • Demonstrates proficiency while performing vascular procedures
  • Annual completion of competency validation, safety training, and OSHA requirements
  • Performs Quality Improvement duties in accordance to IAC, JCAHO, hospital and department guidelines
