The Financial Analyst Position
Sunnova Energy is currently searching for a Financial Analyst to play a key role in Sunnova’s corporate finance strategy. Sunnova executes its finance strategy through a combination of asset-backed securitization, tax equity, and corporate debt and equity.The analyst’s primary function will be to produce detailed financial models, work with large data sets, and derive conclusions from their own analysis. Additionally, the analyst will provide valuable insights about Sunnova’s financial performance to internal and external stakeholders. A successful Financial Analyst will coordinate with multiple departments to gather and present up-to-date financial analysis from across the business.
Responsibilities
- Maintains, updates, and revises scenarios in financial models using a combination of corporate and project-level data and assumptions.
- Gains understanding and models complex structured finance transactions.
- Utilizes large data sets to provide important insights about the business.
- Works across multiple Sunnova groups to gather information about the performance of our assets.
- Presents analysis to financing partners as well as internal leaders across the firm.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Education required: BA or BBA in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Data Science, Economics, or related fields of study
- 1 to 3 years of related work experience
- Experience with financial modeling, data analysis, and financial performance

- Advanced Excel skills
- Self-motivated and able to consistently deliver results under strict time constraints
- High attention to detail and the ability to work independently
- Result oriented; proactive; possesses a high level of integrity
- Strong interpersonal skills including communicating at various levels of organization
- Ability to learn quickly, adjust to change and deal with ambiguity
- Openness to coaching and mentoring and curiosity to broaden exposure to various areas of finance rather than be a specialist
