Requirements
  • A degree in Office Technology, Health Administration, Business Administration, or an equivalent qualification is required.
  • At least two years of experience in administration and/or office management is required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, basic office procedures, information management, and record keeping is required.
  • Knowledge of ADP, Reportsmith, and a learning management system, preferably HealthStream, is required.
  • Basic clerical, office management, and records management skills are required.
  • Ability to provide or procure technical support for office equipment is required.
  • Problem-solving skills covering interpersonal and systems issues are required.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and workplace collaboration skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide peer counseling and advocacy to men, women, and children receiving psychiatric services under the direct supervision of a licensed behavioral health professional.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and employees, while interacting professionally and appropriately.
  • Contribute to the assigned department's performance and quality improvement activities through data collection, analysis, implementation, compliance, risk management, claims activities, continuous quality improvement teams, and adherence to safety, security, infection control, and patient service policies.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings, case conferences, individual supervision, and discharge planning discussions.
  • Develop individualized strategies with patients to reduce the negative consequences of drug use and nonadherence to medication for mental illness.
  • Promote problem-solving and decision-making skill development related to maintaining recovery.
  • Participate in onsite clinical supervision.
  • Advocate for patients, encourage and support self-advocacy, and conduct post-discharge follow-up calls and outreach as needed.
  • Recommend post-discharge supports, including psychosocial clubhouses, peer support services, and other community resources that support recovery.
  • Develop, lead, and co-lead groups such as WRAP, community integration, recovery, relapse prevention, socialization, and symptom management groups using Motivational Interviewing skills.
  • Document activities according to supervisors' guidance and direction.
