Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of Nursing is required.
  • A minimum of three years of applied related clinical work experience as a registered nurse is required.
  • Two years of experience as a Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board-certified Wound and Ostomy Nurse are required.
  • Current South Carolina or compact-state licensure as a registered nurse is required.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification or American Red Cross Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
  • Current Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board Wound and Ostomy or Wound, Ostomy and Continence certification is required.
  • The employee must be able to perform the listed physical functions, including standing, sitting, walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted, and exerting up to 50 pounds of force.
  • The employee must maintain corrected vision, hearing acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, tactile sensory function, and color discrimination.
  • The employee must be able to deal effectively with stressful situations and work overtime as required.
  • The employee must be able to work in a latex-safe environment.
  • The employee must be physically qualified for respirator use when applicable.
Responsibilities
  • Provide an in-depth plan of care for inpatients and outpatients of all ages, from neonates through adults, specializing in wounds, ostomies, and continence.
  • Coordinate nursing management and collaborate with other healthcare providers to implement programmatic changes.
  • Update clinical practice based on current research and on changes in patients' ages and developmental levels, while considering patients' family needs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Additional Continence and Foot Care Certification is preferred.
