  • Clear verbal communication for instruction and supervision in noisy clinical or lab environments.
  • Ability to hear and respond to student questions and clinical environment sounds (monitors, alarms).
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional heavier lifting may be required during clinical simulations or events.
  • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, or bend as necessary to set up simulation labs or assist students.
  • Extended periods of computer use for documentation, scheduling, and curriculum development.
  • Ability to work in a variety of settings including classrooms, labs, offices, and healthcare environments with exposure to bodily fluids, chemicals (in simulation), and clinical odors.
  • Capacity to adapt to frequently changing schedules and demands typical in both academic and healthcare settings.
  • Communicate effectively through verbal and written channels.
  • Certification as a Nationally Registered certification and Arkansas licensure as a Paramedic or Arkansas Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or higher.
  • RN applicants must hold certification as a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician or higher and corresponding Arkansas licensure.
  • Three (3) years of experience as an EMS provider for a licensed emergency response agency or three (3) years of nursing experiences in an emergency department or other critical care environment.
  • Valid Arkansas driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Instructor certifications (or eligibility): ACLS within 6 months of hire; PALS within 6 months of hire; PHTLS within 12 months of hire; ITLS within 12 months of hire.
  • Arkansas EMSP instructor license at the ALS level or eligibility within 4 months of hire.
  • Five (5) years of experience as a licensed Paramedic with an emergency response agency or RN in emergency department or critical care environment (preferred).
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in EMS, health sciences, or a related field (preferred).
  • Two (2) years of experience as an Arkansas EMSP instructor at the paramedic level (preferred).
  • Salary Information: $60,000 (optional documents).
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all clinical activities of the EMS program in collaboration with the Program Director.
  • Teach clinical education courses throughout the academic year, including summer semesters.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in clinical instruction, evaluation, and student supervision.
  • Coordinate clinical education with didactic instruction to ensure integrated learning.
  • Maintain student clinical competencies and provide direct/indirect clinical supervision.
  • Develop clinical schedules, syllabi, and orientation materials.
  • Collect, maintain, and report all required clinical documentation, including: Immunizations, background checks, drug screens, federal exclusion checks; BLS, ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS certification records; HIPAA and Standard Precautions compliance training.
  • Participate in EMS-related recruitment events and community outreach.
  • Ensure compliance with all CoAEMSP and CAAHEP accreditation standards.
  • Maintain confidential student records in accordance with FERPA.
  • Maintain personal clinical and educational competencies in areas of instruction.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Director or college leadership.
