About Universal Intermodal Services Inc.
Universal Intermodal services all major US Ports and intermodal Rail Ramps and offers domestic door-to-door drayage to and from Ports, Rails, and Customer Facilities. We operate from over 40 terminals and 11 container yards. We provide Chassis, Containers, Drayage, and Services for Imports, Exports, and Domestic moves.
Key Duties/Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise intermodal sales efforts throughout the country while functioning as a subject matter expert for entire sales team.
- Responsible for all Intermodal sales activity.
- Prioritize and communicate customer commitments in different regions throughout the country.
- Promote Intermodal with other lines of business by keeping appropriate parties informed of all services rendered by intermodal.
- Support intermodal sales activity and lend strength to close new business.
- Provide strategic information for success in soliciting new business and in managing existing business.
- Perform quarterly sales reviews with all designated intermodal sales personnel and present findings to the executive team.
- Maintain and develop positive relationships with Operations and Sales personnel.
- Provide market and customer information to leadership and other functional areas on a regular basis.
- Provide reports of sales activity and market data to respective sales personnel.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations.
- Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization’s objectives.
- Work closely with the rest of our executive intermodal team.
Job Qualifications
- 10+ years of sales and sales leadership skills and experience
- BA or BS degree preferred
- Successful history in sales and business development
- Strong business acumen
- Ability to communicate with corporate level staff
- Exceptional oral/written communication skills, time & territory management and able to meet deadlines on a consistent basis
- Analytical skills – assess, design, and sell our services
- Confident, decisive with strong negotiation, problem solving and closing skills
- Must desire to travel as much as 50% of the time
