Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare marketing, growth strategy, or related enterprise marketing roles is required.
  • Experience in an academic medical center environment or an adjacent complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise, such as higher education, a health system, or a similarly matrixed organization, is required.
  • The candidate must be able to tie marketing investment to business outcomes and demonstrate fluency in healthcare economics, including volume, capacity, payer mix, contribution margin, and access constraints.
  • The candidate must have strong experience with digital and performance marketing, conversion strategy, and measurement and attribution approaches.
  • The candidate must demonstrate executive stakeholder leadership with clinical and operational partners.
Responsibilities
  • Own UHealth marketing strategy and quarterly growth plans tied to business objectives, including volume, acuity, payer mix, and contribution margin.
  • Partner with finance, strategy, and service line leadership to define return on investment and margin-based success measures and prioritize investments based on return.
  • Lead business cases for major initiatives, including campaigns, channels, platforms, and patient journey improvements, and recommend investment decisions based on measurable impact.
  • Lead integrated demand strategy across direct-to-consumer tactics, including paid media, search, web, nurture, retargeting, reputation, and brand, and direct-to-provider tactics, including referral development support, physician-to-physician outreach, referral pathways, affiliate enablement, and partner enablement.
  • Define channel strategy, audience segmentation, and a testing roadmap to improve conversion efficiency and drive profitable growth.
  • Ensure provider and referral tactics align with access realities, specialty capacity, and service line priorities.
  • Serve as an executive leader for patient experience and access growth, partnering with digital, operations, access, and call center teams to improve the end-to-end journey.
  • Drive digital front door strategy and improvement priorities, including find-a-doctor experience, service line journeys, search engine optimization, answer engine optimization, content pathways, conversion user experience, appointment scheduling flows, lead capture, and follow-up engagement.
  • Use consumer and patient insights to reduce friction, increase conversion, and strengthen loyalty and retention.
  • Establish a measurement framework and reporting cadence with clear definitions for pipeline, conversion, and return on investment outcomes, and ensure consistent tracking across tactics and channels.
  • Connect marketing performance to business outcomes, including net revenue and contribution margin where data is available, and drive optimization decisions based on what improves return.
  • Lead executive performance readouts, translating results into insights, implications, and decisions.
  • Serve as a senior strategic partner to service line clinical and administrative leaders, aligning on goals, priorities, and expectations and maintaining communication and trust.
  • Work closely with enterprise counterparts in Operations, Marketing Technology, Communications, Brand, and Content Studio to plan, execute, and measure multi-channel efforts with speed and quality.
  • Drive cross-functional accountability to outcomes, remove barriers, and escalate risks and tradeoffs as needed.
  • Lead and develop Marketing Directors and Coordinators aligned to specific service lines and disease programs, set performance expectations, and strengthen capability in healthcare marketing, analytics, and patient journey thinking.
  • Establish consistent planning standards, briefing quality, and performance management practices across the UHealth marketing team.
