Responsibilities
  • Creating, planning, implementing, and evaluating department and university-level events, conferences, activities, etc.
  • Mentoring, training, and providing policy and procedure education for student employees and possible program volunteers
  • Providing the necessary support, expertise, and perspective to develop student leaders and their opportunities for meaningful involvement and engagement
  • Assisting student employees to effectively and appropriately navigate university policy and procedure
  • Facilitating the creation of networks and communities on campus

  • Advanced technical and computer skills in website design, graphic design, coding, statistical software, etc.

  • Knowledge of, and ability to operationalize, student development and student affairs theories and best practices
  • Knowledge of, and ability to, operationalize theories, strategies, and best practices in branding, marketing, and public relations
  • Research and operationalize student affairs and student development news and trends, academic publications, and best practices
  • Teach and train holistic student affairs skills and practice, namely: advisement, teaching, facilitation, leadership and followership, and interpersonal communication
  • Understanding of and ability to apply university policy and procedure
  • Understanding of legal and liability issues as they relate to department programs, events, and services and ramifications for student participants, volunteers, and employees
