Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field—or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience designing training for technical, systems, or operational roles.
  • Experience designing training for adult learners in corporate environments.
  • Strong command of eLearning development tools (Articulate, Synthesia etc.).
  • Ability to simplify complex workflows, system processes, and compliance topics into understandable training.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools (SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
  • English (reading, writing, verbal fluency required)
Responsibilities
  • Partner with SMEs to gather technical/process information and translate it into effective, learner-friendly content.
  • Apply adult learning principles and proven instructional design models (ADDIE, Agile) to design, develop, and iterate training programs.
  • Create blended learning solutions (self-paced, instructor-led, microlearning, just-in-time performance support).
  • Support the transition from traditional training models (e.g., ILT) to flipped, digital-first, or hybrid learning formats.
  • Develop content in authoring tools such as Articulate 360 (Rise, Storyline), Camtasia, and Canva.
  • Build engaging, visually consistent training materials such as facilitator/participant guides, quick reference tools, and system walkthroughs.
  • Ensure all materials align with learning brand standards and accessibility guidelines.
  • Collaborate with L&D Specialists and delivery teams to support effective facilitation and performance outcomes.
  • Conduct needs analyses, task analyses, and learner assessments to inform design.
  • Implement feedback loops and evaluation strategies (Kirkpatrick Levels 1–3) to improve learning effectiveness.
  • Maintain and update content to reflect changes in systems, policies, or procedures.

  • Experience working with or in support of shared services, supply chain, or healthcare operations a plus.

April 7, 2026- Darby Thompson is joining Owens & Minor as Vice President (VP), Strategic Business Development and will report to Dean Huibregtse, Senior Vice President (SVP) Strategic Business Development. After working in various Commercial Account roles at Owens & Minor in the early 2000s, Darby went on to lead business development strategies in the industry and most recently served as the Director of Health System Strategy at Hanger Clinic.
