Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6+ years of professional experience
  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret (or higher) security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
  • Proven experience with Quality metrics, such as: Product Escapes, Product First Pass Yield, First Articles statuses, MES Instruction reviews/approvals, drawing reviews/approvals, non conformance reporting, corrective action reporting, continuous improvement activities, and/or performance review management
  • Track record building relationships and communicating effectively with all levels of the organization and with internal and external customers, including commercial and government customers
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to coach, develop and mentor others
  • Willing and able to work additional days/hours during launch campaigns
Responsibilities
  • Develop, modify, apply and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place
  • Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment
  • Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications
  • Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction
  • Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements
  • May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality
  • Main interface with our government agencies and customers onsite
  • Manage the Vandenberg Space Force Base, California field site Quality Team, including a total of 5 plus direct reports derived of Quality Engineers, Quality Analysts, and Quality Inspectors
  • Ensure that we meet all customer quality requirements, including commercial and government contracts
  • Ensure that all Quality metrics are measured and monitored and report progress on a monthly basis
Desired Qualifications
  • BS degree plus 10 years of related experience; Masters degree plus 8 years of related experience
  • Advanced degree in engineering, chemistry, or related science
  • Experience in Lean and Six-Sigma quality engineering methodologies
